Default Hood Hinge springs

Did the cars with ram air use a different spring than the standard hood?

My reason for this question is my hood seems like it could close or come down on it's own since
the ram air pan have been added to it. I suppose it could be wear in the hinges themselves.

I have installed pans on both my 71 & 72, the 71 hood stays up fine and the 72 did before the pan was added. I think it needs its hinges restored. Yours probably does too.

FWIW, Rowland Hall restored my hood hinges and I still won't work under the hood of my 72 without a safety rod propping the hood up.
