Default REMOTE MIRROR CONTRL CLIP

My '66 GTO has a drivers side "remote" mirror. The "clip" or whatever is the proper name of it, that goes inside the door panel and holds the "control" piece against the door panel is missing. If I hold the control in my hand and against the door panel, I can adjust the mirror. Moves relatively easy. BUT, I dont have the piece to hold it that goes inside the door panel to hold it in place!

1) What's the correct name for it "Clip", "Slide", or what?
2) Where can I get one, as all I've found is the complete assembly?
3) Are the door panel clips hard to remove? And easy to break? And where can I get extras? AMES?
4) Not had the door panel off, is it fairly easy to remove?
5) Yes, I'm a bit mechanically inclined, but been 40 years since I've played with a classic/collector type car! And at 79, My fat fingers don't have the deft of touch they did when I was 40, or heck, even 60!
Your help is appreciated, and "ENJOY YOUR YOUTH"....70 or less!!

Thanks Allan

Sorry, I'm not familiar with "Franks"
Any contact information, website, etc, would be appreciated!

Thanks, I'm kinda new at this restoration and parts suppliers.

But there's a lot of information to be had/shared on here, and I for one, really appreciate it

Franks Pontiac Parts. They’re a huge salvage yard out in the desert in California. Nothing but classic Pontiac’s. You can call and talk to them, they are very helpful. Here is their link:
