Time to replace the 2 front parking light bezels on my '65 LeMans. The existing/original bezels ground through the mounting bolts and have 2 wires coming from the back (I assume that the 2 wires correspond to powering the parking light and powering the blinker?). BC of their age and condition, I cannot tell what colors the existing wires are. To make it worse, it looks like these existing bezels were spliced into the wiring harness at some point, so there are no original connectors present.

I have the replacement bezels and they just have 2 wires coming out of the back.

Here's my question/dilemma: How do I determine which wire feeds the parking light element (constant on) and which wire feeds the blinker element (intermittent on)? Or does it matter since the 1157 bulb has 2 equal looking filaments?

I figured it out through trial and error. It was just a matter of using a test light to trace which wire was powered for the parking lights and which wire activated the turn signal.

The two filaments are not the same. The always on (park/tailamp) filament is the dimmer of the two and the turn signal is brighter.

Yup. A quick check with a test light confirmed which wire fed the "running light" element and which wire fed the "turn signal" element.

You can get new connectors from Terminal Supply. They are called Packard connectors.
