Default 69 GTO dash tachometer wiring

So I converted my 69 GTO to an HEI and I ran a new tach wire in under the dash. Somewhere in my head I thought I read, heard, or someone told me that the factory in dash tach will not work with an HEI? I'm going to be putting gauges in and doing some stuff with the dash out. Is there something else i would need? Will it work? Hope you all are having a great holiday season!

The tach is triggered by connecting the 'tach' terminal on the HEI cap to the wire on the tach. If tach behaves erratically, it may need a filter.
If so, PM me with an email address for a filter cct which costs a few $$ to make.
