Wondering why a 68 Camaro 396 heater core wouldn’t work to replace my factory 68 Firebird heater core? It would sure make life easier to have heater hoses that run closer to the fender well than hidden behind the cylinder head. Anybody tried this conversion?

Thanks for the response and photo. Is that the original Firebird heater core case or did you use the Camaro case?
