Door Panel support

My '67 Sport Coupe is currently receiving a new Remote Outside Mirror, as the original one has broken.

My question is:
Has anyone run into the door panel being a little flimsy around the hole for the Control handle and is there anything I can do to support it.

I have ordered a new Control handle retainer.
