Default Weird attachement 1965 GTO trunk hinge. package tray/fender/roof area

Post this earlier but the secure connection dumped it!
So i was inside the trunk today scoping out the rusty areas and noticed on the passenger side this not completely straight cut metal piece near where the trunk hinge/package tray bracing would attach to fender roof area. the holes almost look like old slide hammer screw holes and body filler. Pictures looking forward above fender well towards door jam.

The panels have been replaced. The exposed edge is the original panel that is over lapped by the replacement panel. Those could have been screw holes that filler is hanging through. Someone in the past did a poor (but common) job of panel replacement.

Looks like slide hammer screw holes and filler to me also, but both sides? Seems weird to me unless the roof.

Pulled the headliner sail panels out yesterday. Those are rivets! There is lead covering that area as well as most of sail panel of roof!. Must have gotten 2 full quarter panels but I can not see where they spliced it in at the jam or tail panel.
