Default Repop buildsheet

All-

I am in the final stages of reproducing a buildsheet for my 1979 W72 TA. My goal is to have a binder with documentation including the PHS, window sticker, dealer order copy, dealer invoice etc... My car is a Norwood build and after a complete disassembly of the car, an original bulidsheet was not found.

The process to recreate the document has been extensive to say the least. I will get a copy posted soon. I collected enough buildsheets from other Norwood cars that I was able to piece together the correct options, colors etc...

Please keep in mind, my goal was not to change or misrepresent anything on my car but to reproduce what my original buildhsheet would have looked like.

My question is whether there would be an interest of offering this service to other folks in the same situation that I was in? What would be a fair price to charge?

Thanks,
Jim

People make repop window stickers every day the PHS is going to tell the truth in the end. I would be interested in one the original that came in our car is gone. I assume someone who had one in bad shape might be interested also. When I found the one for the 80 t/a I had it was basically cut in half by the tar strip that was on top of the tank could have used one for it.

there is a reason that PHS doesn't supply build sheet info or reprints. Anything other than an original document could be used to misrepresent a vehicle as something it is not. A reprint window sticker is not used for documentation and can be refuted by a legitimate build sheet. The word for a repop build sheet would be counterfeit.

The reason PHS does not provide the build sheet is because they don't have it.

Just like the body cowl tag it only exists in/on the subject vehicle. It was not kept in any central repository.

A bud did a 25th Anniv ta clone, sold it that way, he saw the guy who bought it selling it for the real thing. That’s why all that is bad.

Just put a "REPOP" watermark on your work.

Back in the 80's the thing to do was add options. Few folks wanted them "as ordered". The more options added the better.

That would be the way to go -
'Repop Buildsheet' for as ordered options on car
'Wish List Buildsheet' for what you want on the car
"Resto Buildsheet' for the expensive ones
