Looking at putting new cab corners and rockers in my 98 Chevy, any tips and tricks? How long did it take you? I can weld but I'm not a big body work guy. Rather do it at home and save a few bucks.

I had a shop to a rocker and an ex cab corner (pass side) years ago. Really saved that truck.

My son , who is in highschool, did his ‘95 Silverado, under one of my older son’s supervision. Older son has done quite a few.
They bought the cab corners, made their own rockers at my older son’s shop. Then they painted it.
It was maybe 2 years ago, and still looks good.

I was going to replace other panels while I'm at it, paint will be $4000 for it just sanding down and spraying two tone. Hoping I could save a few bucks on doing the rockers and stuff myself. It can't be terribly hard

Have you ever considered using panel bond adhesive? My daily clunker need rust repair over the RR tire. I purchased a cheap LF fender reversed it and glued it on. I brought some color match rattle can to finish. Seam is about 2in below pin strip.

I had to fix a botched rocker/cab corner install on my C10. My advice, take your time and you will do fine. Make sure your door hinges are good and the door alignment is perfect before doing the job. You will be using the door as your reference for getting the panels straight.

Id like to fix the truck up. When I get closer to driving and running on my 56 gasser then I want to build the truck. Cummins and nv4500 swap to replace the 350 Chevy and 4l80. then I would replace all the rusty panels and paint
