Default 1965 2+2 Interior Trim

I am finally getting to the headliner and trim on my '65 2+2. The A-pillar, windlace, and windshield trim pieces that came with the car (in a box, in the trunk) look like chromed aluminum. They are really light.

Did Pontiac use chrome interior trim in '65 or are these from an Impala SS?

They are pretty beat up, so I am considering sanding them down and painting them anyway. If so, the next question is about color. I have the dark blue interior but the light blue headliner. Would the trim have been the dark blue, black, or Fontaine Blue body color?

I believe they are anodized aluminum, the ones on my 2+2 are not painted but like the ones shown in the pics

Thanks Jonsie. Anodization makes sense. I tried to buff out some scratches and and buffed through to the bare aluminum. But, if they are correct for a 2+2, I may try a little harder to clean them up. I have two sets of pillars and windshield trim to choose from.

Default 1965 2+2 interior trim

My 65 2+2 is Reef Turquoise with Parchment interior. All the interior moldings are painted satin black. I restored the car myself and that was the original finish on these pieces.

My 65 2+2 had a parchment interior and satin black moldings. The anodized aluminum ones are from a Bonneville.

My 4dr hardtop Ventura is reef turquoise. The interior trim and dash are turquoise. I am assuming the trim for parchment is black, like your examples. The interior paint trim code for the 2+2 is blue charcoal. The dash paint is a dark blue but I thought Blue charcoal was more of a blue gray.
I will see what I can match up.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

I had a choice when redoing our 2+2. I opted for the aluminum pieces all around...windshield, rear window, headliner trim. They look sharp w/the plum interior. Don't mind if not correct

I took the ugliest most scuffed up pieces, sanded them down and removed the dents. I shot them with some ebay rattle can base coat that matched WA3300 Blue Charcoal and then used semi-gloss clear. They turned out pretty good. Maybe someday, I will clean up the aluminum set and have options.
I am also repainting the dash the correct blue while I'm at it.
