[Grandprix]

I have a 64 grandprix went for a ride and smelt wire burning found the number one wire on the ignition switch it’s a eight wire switch it says IG on the switch if I look it up it says it goes to coil wondering is the switch bad I do have a patronics set up in the distributor car runs can’t trace wire I ran a wire from switch to coil won’t start like that any thoughts would be appreciated
