Odd. Ames only lists one part number for the 1-piece full trunk pan for the 66-67, but you could be right that it's really for a '66. I installed their 1-piece trunk pan and dropdowns in my '66, and it didn't require any modification around the dropdowns or tail panel. Just fit right up. Makes me think that your theory that it's a '66 stamping is accurate.
