I was degreeing a crower 60919 cam this afternoon
My results are as follows. Note; all measurements are taken from tappet lift Intake Tappet lift at TDC- 0.064 ICL(installed straight up)- 109 degrees Duration @ 0.004 - 298 degs 0.006 - 288 0.050 - 233 0.200 - 142 Max lift - 0.320 Exhaust Tappet lift at TDC - 0.055 ECL - 113 degs Duration @ 0.004 - 265 degs 0.006 - 262 0.050 - 229 0.200 - 138 Max lift - 0.303 There's a few minor differences from the cam card such as 109 icl instead of 108 111 LSA instead of 112 Intake lift of 0.480(1.5 rocker) instead of 0.470 0.050 intake duration of 233 instead of 231. I'm prepared to admit that the differences could well be in my measuring, not the cam. Even if my measuring is accurate and the cam is out then it's still only out a touch on the intake/LSA. But the exhaust measured is completely different from the cam card. 0.050 duration of 229 instead of 240 Lift of 0.452 instead of .470 0.004 duration of 265 where the adv duration is 316. Could the cam be ground completely wrong or don't the numbers crower advertise mean a thing? Thanks |

did you use a solid lifter to degree the cam? - agree with Steve. the exhaust side seems small.
from Crowers website advertised = 304/316 At .050 = 231/240 Lobe Lift = .313/.313

The 1 degree of difference on the ICL and LSA is normal, and timing chain slack will take care of that after a little run time.
A degree or 2 on the duration is generally acceptable too, but the gross diff on the exhaust isn't. I suggest rechecking that. Lift can be off due to variances in rocker arms, but that's starting to be on the unacceptable side. Recheck that too. Try another exhaust and see if it's the same. That might suggest a bad rocker. .
