Thanks guys - it should make between 1000hp and 1200hp at the crank so I don't think it'll be slow haha.
I am already planning to have the chassis and suspension 3D-scanned so a new, stronger and severely upgraded frame can be custom-built for it. I'd like to include swaybars, better control arm and trailing arm locations, plus upgrade to rack-n-pinion steering as well as (hopefully) aftermarket ABS. This would be a long, long term project so don't get too excited to see much progress on this. I'm so excited to drive this car after 7 years off the road! |

That is one beautiful sled. Please post some interior picts.
Did you use the hydraulic engine mounts? What trans are you running? Thanks, Mario64 |

I actually made my own cotton reel-style poly mounts using a universal "Tuff Mounts" shackle kit from down here in Australia.
To get the engine low enough in the chassis I had to do a lot of... errrr... "repairs" to the front crossmember. |

Which transmission?

It's a Hughes Performance HT25-1HD which is their 1000hp-rated 4L80E four-speed auto.

Did you have to cut the tunnel to fit it? How about the driveshaft tunnel? Since the car is on air. The reason I'm asking is because I did an lsa in my 68 deville. The 6l90 trans necessitated cutting the trans tunnel. Had to cut the driveshaft tunnel too, because it is on bags.
thanks. Mario64 |

I didn't cut the tunnel, I just had to liberate space with a hammer around the trans cooler fittings and the RH side of the bellhousing. It is roughly the same size as a TH400 overall, but it is just taller for longer.
6L90 is bigger again so I'm not surprised it needed more floor mods. If I had my time again I'd lift the whole trans, tailshaft tunnel and diff hump to get the trans up higher. As it is the deep pan on my trans sits flat on the ground when aired out. |

Hi guys, for anyone interested the guys at Mighty Car Mods did a 30minute video on my '64's build. It isn't for the purists but maybe some of you guys will find it interesting.

Neat stuff. Getting coverage from the MCM boys is a big deal.
I watch a ton of Australian car channels - MCM, Skid Factory, Benny's Custom Works, Barrel Brothers, Home Built by Jeff, Haltech, and probably some others I can't think of right now. You guys have a lot of high performance stuff going on. |

Thanks Stuart. I've been mates with Marty (MCM), Benny (BCW), Al (Skid Factory) and the Haltech guys for nearly 20 years. We go ok down here given there aren't that many people or access to resources
