MIke
Tech said specifically to ground to the neg side of coil, asked multiple times because it didn't sound right to me. Now I didn't try it, because a new coil didn't fix my problem, which was the first thing I tried today. Only thing left I haven't replaced is the pickup in the dizzy, which I will do thursday. Will let you know what happens then.

Problem lies elsewhere.
Are you saying then the problem of cooking coils is something other than a ground issue or are you saying that it's the MSD box?
