Default 30 degrees colder in Arizona than Alaska!

It's chilly tonight ( for us ) in the Phoenix area with lows around 26. Does not dip below freezing here very often.
But, in eastern Arizona, where I am moving to, as of 10pm, it is currently -2!
I checked weather.com and Wasilla, Alaska checks in at 28 above. So, it is 30 degrees colder in parts of Arizona than in parts of Alaska.
Stange stuff.

Who else is colder tonight than in Eastern Arizona at -2?

Wherever you are, keep warm, and wishing all a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year.

WOW, that is cold for Arizona in those parts. Its been a COLD and harsh winter already for many... all of these freezes in Florida, snows in the southeast, etc.

I am in northeast Tennessee and we were below average for 29 days out of the 31 days in December! Today was a payback, as the temperature soared to 68°! Still a nice 51° @ 2am, rain/thunderstorms Saturday, 60°, then back in the mid-upper 40s all week, which is average for this time of year for us.

Not good. I want to move out of Jersey to AZ or FL for the weather, but not if its going to be cold there. Might as well just live on the islands.

Dayton, OH has averaged 10 degrees below normal for the last month. It's probably global warming, caused by musclecars.

Just woke up and checked the weather again.

Maricopa ( outside of Phoenix ) 28
Wasilla, Ak 37

St Johns, Az -21 !
Then it says feels like -40!

Remember, this is in St Johns, about 250 miles from Phoenix in the high country which gets much colder than the deserts where most of the population is.
