Do not buys kits.

They are really cheap offshore junk.

MOOG is the way to go.

i put PST stuff on firebird years ago and boots cracked and tore only a year or so later and ball joint failed. i just finished restoring a cutlass last year using all moog front end pieces. go to rock auto online (cheaper than parts store and also do search for rock auto discount code to get 5% off order). very happy with quality and fit

MOOG all the way. You dont want to cut short on ball joints... You buy a kit, and you end up replacing most of it after a year..

Sorry to hijack, quick question related. I purchased a suspension pkg from PTFB, they came pretty highly recommened by the TA crowed. Anyway it came with ELGIN (sp?) bushings and ball joints, not moog. is that brand crap or is it similar in quality? My first inclination was to sub out with moog parts but I figured if it came in a "Competition" package, that they might be better? I'm really green at this stuff.
thanks
Steve

Their website sucks, but here is a contact link for them.
http://www.elginind.com/contact.html
Email them and ask, see if they will answer if the parts are made in the USA?

Energy Suspension, Federal Mogul (moog) etc.
They'll set you up with whatever you need. Or they have "kits". With the same brand name parts. Call and tell them what you want and what you intend to do.

Got all my stuff at NAPA. Most of it was MOOG, the rest was McQuay-Norris. ALL really good stuff. Gave them RockAuto prices and they got close with a nice discount.

Personally, I'd go ACDelco...

You can buy ACDelco on Amazon for the same price as Moog at Rock Auto, but not have to pay shipping...

ACD part #45D2009 lower ball joint - $22.27 each, on Amazon with free shipping (over $25.00 order)

Moog part #K5103 lower ball joint - $22.79 each, at Rock Auto + $8.52 shipping for a pair.
