A '69 lid will fit on a '68 car but not correctly. I don't think the '68 lid will even fit on the '69. Either way, you don't want to do it. The gaps are all wrong around the taillight area. If you just have to use it, you can weld metal in to make the radius correct....but I expect you can find the right one to swap for.
In fact, I think GTO John offered to swap a '68 lid for a '69 recently. I did the same with mine as a matter of fact...
Here's a photo of my '68 with a '69 lid. Notice the gaps inboard of the taillights.

To answer the OP question; No. You cannot use a 69 decklid on a 68.

You could however modify a 68 decklid to fit on a 69, but there are some differences there as well.

I am currently out of stock on 68 decklids, but I do have a very nice 69 decklid available if someone needed one.

I also have a nice rust free 68 lid that I would trade straight up for a 69 lid. I've been hanging on to it for a long time and I keep buying 69's cars and no 68's?

When I bought my 69 several years ago, it had a 68 lid on it. It is also on the market if anyone is interested...

thanks alot for all the info,you guys saved me a lot of grief because i almost bought a 69 lid .
YES,i do need a 68 lid. i will be going to the tri-power nat's in norwalk if anyone will be going there with a 68 lid in good shape send me a pm,or if your within a couple hr's drive of north central wv pm me also.
the pictures really told the whole story,because looking at them in pic's and off the cars they look very similar,thanks again guy's.
