Default Norwalk - Need Scirocco Radiator Or Won't Make It

Discovered yesterday my Afco 80104N radiator full of pin holes along every tube about 1" in from both tanks. Pretty sure this is a mfg defect and not electrolysis due to the straight pattern. Guessing they had their fixtures set up wrong when clamping for furnace brazing. No local radiator shop would touch it so I tried jb weld unsuccessfully. Is junk at this point as far as I'm concerned. Only used 1 season, but its older than that and they won't cover under warranty. Also not comfortable going 150 with a patched up radiator.

I don't want to order another of these since I had planned to run a bigger radiator for better cooling. Dont want to spend $350 for a radiator thats coming right back out. Does anyone have a known good one for cheap or even borrow for the weekend? The way my chassis is, it will pretty much need to be a direct replacement of my afco pos. Will check Monday, but doubt can get a custom one turned around quick enough.

I recognize this is the wrong place for this, but knew only guys in this section would have one. Kind of grasping at straws until I can figure something out.

Maybe a long shot, depending on hole size. But have you tried running a big load of stop leak thru it? We use some stuff called Core Sure that you have to get from a radiator shop....not sold retail.

Unfortunately, that didn't work either. Heck, it even leaks cold with no pressure on it. Looks like a cow pissin on a flat rock underneath it.

Recall what it cost? I really don't want to order another one as I have cooling problems now and want to go with a taller one with more cooling capacity. I'm hellbent on making it, just trying to minimize the cost on this continual money pit....

Try a junk yard.
The one in my dragster is from a junk yard, no clue what from.

Just gave them measurements and hose sizes.
(since yours is 'sirrocco' probably find a junk VW)

Is it have side mounts?

You could run alcohol and not worry about it?

I have a redline aluminum in my Ventura. It's in Batesville but if you need it, we can pull it out and bring it Norwalk.

Agree with David, Awesome offer! In the early 90's I pulled two of the Scirocco rads for local buddys with econ dragsters running heavily built 406 SBC's. Took me a few months to find both in good shape (both were relatively new replacements). In those years, I was in yards a good 15-20 days out of the month, forget finding that stuff today in the yards.
