Default Lowered the '73 a bit more....

I like all my cars low, but on Firebirds the way the inner fenders are you can only go so much. I took my car back to Eric@ Griffith's metal shaping, he is the guy that build my '71 Camaro, did the restore on my '72 T/A and has done a lot of fab work on my '73. He pulled the inner fenders out and reshaped them as well as reshaping the wheel lips in the front and rear. The car now sits at 24" from the ground to the top of the front wheel lip. I also changed the wheels and tires to 18x10f 275/35/18 & 19x12.5r 345/30/19s. It drives great and I really like the stance. It's easier to make a 2nd gen Camaro look low because of the wheel arches. My '71 Camaro has been totally modified and looks lower than the T/A but it is actually higher. My wife said, "you should do that to your white T/A" lol.

One of my favorite Trans Am's. The FM5's are my favorite wheel I had some on my 01 WS6 your car makes me think they would look good on my buccaneer red 73 TA someday!

Thumbs up

I've always been a BIG fan of lowered 2nd gen. Firebirds. just by dropping the car down a few inches you can really see some of the styling ques come in and the cars take on a whole new appearance IMO. really gives it that Italian flavor i think the designers were looking for from day one...

Wow SW! I didn't think that T/A could get any better! Amazing something so subtle can make such a big difference.

Looks nice, but you simply could not drive a car that low around here without damaging it.....no chance.

Thanks guys, I do think it looks pretty good. It used to be the same height as my lowered '72 but you can really tell the difference nose to nose..
