Default Firebird 71 - Door Glass problem

Hello,

I have a question about the doorglass of my Firebird 71. When we install the glass, and i roll up the window to the top, the glass is falling to the inside of the car. We tried everything, but is doesn't seem to work. It looks like there is something wrong with the tracks, but i'm not sure. I'm strugling this issue for a long time
Hope someone can help? Thank you.

The top of the door is slotted so the top of the track can be adjusted. Losen the bolts and move the tracks toward the inside of the car. This will pull the bottom of the window in this will make the top go out.

They are complete to the inside. When i bought the car, the interior was not complete. there where no rubbers, door panels, etc... So i can not see on pictures how it was. The passenger side is better, and maybe the doorpanel can make ik right. But on the driver side its worse. Maybe the tracks are not the right ones. But they look the same

What the guys are trying point out is that there are supposed to be felt lined adjusters which bolt to the top of the door;
You normally can only see them when the door panel is removed.

All window adjustments have to be done with the door panel off.

I can see from your pictures that the window glass is "flopping" to the inside too far.

It's been many years since I've played with door glass, but once you start monkeying around in there, it should all (geometrically speaking) start to make sense.

Good luck!

I must say that the window is hard to crank to the top. IT looks like the front track is not in the right place. Maybe does me car not have the correct Doors
Looks like the metal of the door is shaped a bit on top of the door, so the glass can pass by, tomorrow I will take a Picture of it.

it shouldn't be hard to crank to the top - something has to be off...

On the drivers side I installed a new regulator from Classic industries. Maybe this can be something?

I have the same issue. The glass falls inward, contacting the weather-stripping well before the door is close to shutting.

I tried adjusting the tracks inward, and moving the felt adjusters up against the glass, but this makes it incredibly hard to roll the windows up and down.

Seems we're having the same problem.

Thx, i read this post earlier. It's really helpfull!
The top bolts are full to the inside, and still the window falls inside.
That makes the window hard to crank. Maybe i will try again step by step.

Thx for the many quotes! Appreciated!

Same exact problem on my 71. And the top rear corner of the glass brushes the c-pillar when the doors close and nicks the paint there. I hoped new door panels and a glass adjust would help, but no.

If the glass touches anything other than the seal then yes, the adjustment is well out.

It's normal to a degree for the glass to flop inward a bit when the door is opened. Maybe an inch or two at the top. When you close the door the window should not hit the pillar. In the body manual there are instructions on how to adjust fbody windows. Problem is you need these special blocks (Dealer tool)that you remove the weatherstrip and these blocks get closed in between the glass and the car where the weatherstrip goes while the door is closed and window up. You adjust while sitting inside the car. Then you replace weatherstrip.

If anybody reading this knows where I could purchase these outdated dealer only tools please let me know...I have part numbers if necessary.

On the drivers side, my windowglass allmost hits the metal of the door on the frontside (mirror) when pulling up the glass.
