Time to update the status of my 66 GTO. I installed a new gardener exhaust system. System fit and looks great.
Thanks Pat |

Looks like it's going to be a quiet ride. Stunning car, great color.

Are those the new "bias look" radials?

Fabricated a fire extinguisher mount that utilized existing holes in the seat track.

Before installing the new exhaust I power washed and steam clean the bottom of the car to get 55+ years worth of grime off. Looks like a toy on the end of that big boat forklift;-)
Thanks Pat |

The 67s had the most bling of all the GTOs. Personally, I think the stainless rocker panels on your 66 are attractive. The 66s and 67s had the same basic body lines. I can see a 66 with 67 front grill and the 67 stainless rockers as combining the best of both years!

Last winter project was replacing the original leaking heater core. Hardest part of the job is the access to outer bolt holding the heater box assembly to the firewall. The replacement heater core is similar in size but thinner. Slightly bending the original clips hold it in place nicely.

Install went smoothly, except for same battle of getting that outer nut installed.
Thanks Pat |

Nice work! A leaking heater core is what causes many peoples' passenger front floorboard to rot out, mine included. Surprised you didn't remove the seat during the processes to minimize the amount of contortion needed to R&R!

Hey Pat, I've got a question for you... Assuming your hood latch is original and hasn't been altered (painted), what is the finish of it on your car? I need a new hood latch kit for my '66, and Ames sells one that is plated in silver cad, whereas OPGI sells one that is plated in gold cad. I'm trying to figure out which finish is correct. Thanks.
