Many thanks for all the information. I swapped out my 14" Pypes mufflers (way too loud for me) for a pair of 14" Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers and boy oh boy am I sure glad I did! Still has a growl but no resonance or drone at 2000-2500 rpm cruising. I can hear myself think in the car now, carry on a conversation and listen to my 60's tunes! Happy Camper!!

Think they make 16" and 18" ones too.

With my trying to find mufflers with little to no drone I have found that things other than the muffler car be part of it.My 69 bird with dyno max and a 428 RA V engine with shorty headers and a H pipe had a terrible drone at 2000.Replaced the motor with a 455 D port with longbranch exhaust manifolds, same H pipe same exhaust from the manifolds back and no drone?Blame the tunnel port heads?Blame the shorty headers?Or just dont blame anything just enjoy how it drives now?FWIW,Tom
