You're welcome.

Interesting article on the very rare shift light hood tach at the following link

http://www.pontiacsonline.com/Shift%...ood%20Tach.htm

It seems there is a green, yellow and red light to indicate when to shift. While Pontiac released part number 6469835, as Hobi said, it was developed as a prototype in 69 but never made it into regular production. There is an email to contact the author if you have information on this tach.

I'm glad this thread is open again. Lot's of stuff about this car to talk about. Here's a photo of the tach's shell. My understanding is that a run of the circuit boards should be done soon.

This is Hobi and Randy's deal and I don't know any details about how many will be made (or how many are already spoken for).

Fun couple days here at the auctions. Big social event, run into lots of folks walking around. Here's a shot of Hobi and his girl at Barrett-Jackson.

That's a beauty. I'm partial to Caddys myself. My favorite of all time is the 1962 'Model-62' Coupe.

I remember seeing a '57 Eldo back in the early 80s when I had my 1958 Model '62'. I was blown away by that stainless steel roof. I'd still love to get hold another Caddy if the right one comes along for the right price. Nothing rides like a Caddy from the 1960s. Some of the finest cars ever made in my opinion.

Be sure and post pics if you get it. I saw a '62 Series 62 for sale a few years ago here but it would have been a full blown project and I just can't take one on right now. I was referring to them as 'Model 62s' but you are right...'Series' is the correct term.
Here's a couple of pics of the 80K mile '58 Series 62 I had back in the 80s.... I have a pic of my '62 somewhere...

Yeah, they are cool cars alright and not enough of them around any more. They had more chrome on the dash than cars nowadays have in the entire vehicle. I was 20 years old when I had that car. Little kids used to stop and point when I drove down the street.
That car was also directly responsible for getting me my first GTO. I swapped it plus a C-note to a classic car dealer for my first Mayfair Maize '68.

Hobi, If you find yourself with an "extra" one of these tachs I would have interest in procuring.

Thanks Hobi, just let me know. I need it like I need a hole in the head but I find it intriguing and someday I will add another car to put it on.

Hobi is making good progress on his car. It should be done in time for prime convertible driving season here in Arizona. It's going to be stunning! In addition to the tach, there will be other "prototype" features. I'll post some pics later this week.

He's still Hobi, just hasn't posted anything in a while.
