Front end rebuild is finished on the Catalina. Drove around the block a couple times and all seems good. Just need a real alignment now.

Digging into all the parts that I have collected over the years to restore the factory air conditioning system.
Plenty of hard to find parts for this particular year and model. Picked through them all and found the ones in the best condition to move forward. Also played around with some fender skirts I bought from a forum member.

Also dug out the splitters I fabricated many years ago (when I could still see well enough to weld) out of 2 304 stainless and started figuring out how to mount them.

Thank you. I don't like to deviate from original... but... I very much prefer the black too.

Got the 'Bandit' Suburban out of storage and cleaned off all the mud it acquired getting up the barn approach last fall.

Was a nice spring day here in southern Oklahoma so I got both of these out to drive around. The 69 got a new fuel tank, fuel pump and lines recently so it got tested out good today. Also recently finished up rebuilding the front end and 4 speed in the RA IV 74. Was a nice day to go through the gears.

Uncovered the Solstice, dusted it off, cleaned it up with Adams detailer and went for a top-down drive, One minor issue that will be resolved by the end of the week. Did the same process with the G8 last week. Only the Firebird remains covered tucked away in the corner of the garage. It will be out in the sun soon.

I drove it! Yes, the mighty TA prowls the streets once again. I had it out yesterday afternoon and then again this morning. I love driving on cool, crisp mornings. It was in the low 40's this morning. I don't know why that feels good to me but it does.

Agree, it's your little piece of heaven. Difficult to put how it makes you feel into words, but it's real. Glad you enjoyed every second of it

Started it! Still excited to have it running.
I'm motivated by this recent thread on adjusting divorced chokes and setting fast idle: https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...errerid=160974 Mine needs work but there's hope. The choke coil and linkage is pulling the choke closed: The fast idle cam pulls the throttle off the idle screw: The pull-off opens the choke when it starts: And the choke opens after it warms up. All good compared to where I've been stuck! |

Havent really posted much lately because my non Pontiac has been getting my attention. Dropped the engine in my 62 Mercury this week after I pulled it for a rebuild. Should be able to break the cam in this weekend, but with the HFT failure rate these days Im honestly a little nervous!
