That didn’t last long.. Made in Taiwan means nothing these days! Lol. Be happy you weren’t stranded. All this stuff is a crapshoot these days.

Summit BS, won’t buy one again. Bypassed it and fired it back up, yesterday it was cutting out at like 2800. I drove it this morning, went back to. Crank it and nothing. Returning it to Summit

The bucking could have been intermittent ignition or other fault.
Also, I recall, you had to run a regulator due to the Holley mechanical pump putting out 10psi. If that regulator is dead-headed with no return line, the bucking (especially at slow speed steady throttle where engine demand is low slow) could be the source of the problem. The excess fuel and pressure has to go somewhere and it goes right back at the pump almost like a vapor lock. If it is still there after your ignition swap-out. I'd look there next.

It’s not at throttle but I definitely can’t cost in gear at a real low speed. The more I learn the more I find I know nothing an all but the cutting out seemed more like an electrical cut out. I will replace with MSD and report back. Getting mufflers today.

It’s starting to foul plugs and blow black smoke. I’m changing the plugs and hooking up the real MSD box tomorrow but where should I start with the plugs

Going colder fixes that? I would think going hotter would.
Gaps can be a concern, and personally, regardless of the parts config, I always run .032 for a number of reasons. .

Edelbrock tech stands by their recommendation of Champion RC12YC. At 24 dollars all in I’m gonna give them a try. My exhaust shop recommended and ultimately installed Magnaflow 16 inch case mufflers. Quieter outside definitely but not so much inside cause I am still riding in a tin can. No drone though. I am concerned about the tic a little bit will tinker with it today or tomorrow. I have the plugs and the MSD box but won’t be able to install it till tomorrow. I will pop a valve cover and check all the rockers today for the tic. I am tired of chasing things though. If I can’t get it after a few days I will take it to a garage.

The magnaflows are louder than the dynomax, and if not mistaken, the dynomax flow better too.
They sold you on a more expensive muffler. And it would have been better if they went to a larger case. Not sure you got your money's worth on that swap, if you wanted to get quiet, but it's done now. You could have saved time by just going to the shop and telling them you wanted it quieter, and not just your time. As for Edelbrock and calling tech support, the answer you get depends entirely as to who picks up the phone. Nothing 'wrong' about the Champions, just quality is all over the board with them in my experience. .

Yeah I do feel like I was upsold but I had two people local tell me that’s what they were running and I always like the sound of their cars so here we are. They are clamped on so it’s not the end of the world but they will get changed if they are too loud with the interior in. It’s just so hard to tell inside cause everything rattles.

I have used Autolite 3924s in my E heads.
The Late Model circle track car I had for a few years had dual MSD 6 boxes so during a race if one crapped out your could just turn a switch and use the other one.

I went with the Magnaflows on my GTO. I'm really happy with them and much better than the Flowmasters that I had before! This is a video that I found online. https://youtu.be/n61XIOVTmPk

I don’t mean to say I don’t like the sound or it’s too loud it’s just that every damn thing in the car rattles right now so I can’t tell how they will be in the end. They are now quiet enough that I can hear the tic inside the car that o was only able to hear standing at the engine with the Black Widows.

Also you guys got to remember I am in a tiny town with a small exhaust shop. I can’t drive it 50 miles to another place to get it done and they won’t let you bring parts. You get what they have or you go somewhere else.

None of these are options?
Getting all the rattles etc out is something that takes effort (and cost) during assembly. I made a point of it when doing the Judge & 442 project, and will do the same on the 'bird project. It's well worth it though, makes an incredible difference. Doors and dash are focus areas. .
