You did WHAT!

If that car looked that good (your picture) and only had 55K on it, why on earth would you take it apart and paint it. It was an awesome surviver.

Is that the pic before you took it apart?

I am not understanding this.

That picture was taken after I painted it. The original owner repainted it sometime in the 90's, so it wasn't a survivor when I got it.

Today is a banner day for me. I have been plagued with little aggravations like leaking transmission fluid & leaking rear main issues. Well, my son came while he is off and fixed everything. My leaking trans fluid was just loose bolts on the pan. My leaking rear main was just loose bolts on the pan. I really need to leave well enough alone and let the younger generation take care of my car problems.

As a bonus, here's a video. Compliments of a younger generation.

May ALL our fluid leaks be fixed by tightening bolts...

Well guys,
I'm counting myself lucky.

Running Bad: I had a dickens of a time after my car was finished getting it to run right. It looked great...but I couldn't drive it. It run like crap...and then transmission fluid started leaking...and then the oil. I took the carb apart about ten times, and finally stumbled up on that I had the points just about closed. This is so basic...at this point I didn't think I could get any dumber. I was wrong.

The Leaks: After dropping the dust cover off the bottom of the transmission and finding oil & transmission fluid in it...... being the seasoned car guy that I am, I thought the worst, rear main & front pump. Nope, just loose bolts on both pan covers. My son found it. I guess the gaskets compressed a little after all the heat and run time. I just need to remember to do the basics. Check the simplest stuff first.

I feel like that old Indian in "Outlaw Josey Wells".... I used to have power!

Attention Restoration Detailers: Interesting reading of assembly line notes "...already dented muffler..."
