68 GTO convertible values?
What would you guys pay for this car?
Its for sale not far from me, from the pictures looks like a very clean runner, red on white , black top , strato chairs , 400 YS auto. Would probably qualify as 8 on scale to 10 , 10 being a show car. tell me what you think Peter |

Until you see it in person assume it’s rusty.
Without inspection in person there’s no way to determine the value.

Like B- Man said inspect in person especially a canadian car. Convertables have boxed frames that can collect dirt and if not cleaned can rot.

You don't see too many 68 GTOs with Rally I wheels....

From the very limited pics provided... the frame looks good, appears to have been undercoated. Based on the overspray in the engine compartment and underneath, it looks to have had a sloppy repaint at some point. Beyond that, can't get a feel for the quality of the paint work and any body work that has been done. How is the endura bumper? Engine been rebuilt?
Right color combo, but AT on column is a demerit. Looks like a nice car, but I'd be more in the $35-40k range.

What do you think the car is worth? What are you expecting people to say? I threw out a number earlier... but I guess that wasn't good enough....

Based on pics, I would not call that car an 8 out of 10. It needs some work
Desirable color combo, non-desirable auto on column. Underhood and interior needs restoration work. Frame looks ok based on that one pic, but the crossmember has a ton of rust pock marks which would make me want to look more closely. '69 front bumper (no arrowhead) and it's missing the filler between the core support and the bumper which could indicate collision repair. Maybe I'm a cheapskate, but I'd put around $40-$45k presuming all the mechanicals are in good shape, there's no hiding rust and the top is in good working condition.

Bench Column shift is just fine for a Convertible. We have a 68 LeMans that way, and prefer that.
Dual Gate on Black Console, black carpet is darn good too. |
