Well, I found a good deal on a Victor intake that was like new, and a mega brace, lifter bore brace, at Pontiac Heaven yesterday. More parts and pieces to add to my car parts collection.

Hey Greg, I tried to sign up for a photo bucket account and it told me I already had one! So I signed in and there it was. I forgot all about having one.

I sanded the paint, primer, and rust off the dash today. Next week I will clean it and POR15 it, then epoxy primer it while the POR15 is still slightly tacky. Then I can fill the pits and get it ready for paint.

Ran across the heater control I restored back in the 90's also. I tried to match the gauge color by mixing metallic green and Pontiac silver/blue metallic engine paint. Not quite a match, but looks good anyway. Control works super smooth and easy now.

Here is one side headlight bezel. Other side will be on next post. Both had badly pitted anodizing on them which I bead blasted off. One was in so, so condition. One of these was crunched from when the front fender got hit. It was crumpled some on one end and was oval shaped instead of round. I pulled it back into shape by hand, then straightened the crumpled spots the best I could. Then I gently peened all the dents out from the inside with a small hammer and punch. Once I got the dents hammered out, I lightly hammered the high spots down on the outside. Then, I filed the outside until all left over high spots were leveled, then I wet sanded it down to 1500 grit and polished it with a buffing wheel and polishing compound. See if you can tell me which one was crumpled because I've been looking at them for 15 minutes and I can't tell which is which. After I peened all the dents out, I re-glass beaded it to hide the work, Now I can't tell.

Some nice pieces for sure. That tachometer is golden! Price is around $450 to get one restored to factory style. The newer cheaper methods don't have the pointer dropping to zero with key off.

And you're going resto-mod, right? I say if you can swing it convert to H4 headlamps, and run the headlight relays on the core support (M.A.D. version). Think I paid $24 each off egay for the AutoPal ones that came with hi/lo bulbs (they are glass, make sure before you buy). Also wired it so the hi & lo are on when hi is selected, much brighter.

With those Packard 56 terminals, you can make your own engine and forward light harness, fyi. If yours is the kind that uses Twin-lock connectors, lemme know, got those I can send. It's probably going to be less expensive & easier to make your own if you want upgrades and custom stuff. HEI, larger gauge power wire to the compartment, adding a Ford sol, using ATO fuse holders, relays, etc.

I got my dash POR15'nd today. First I washed it with Marine Clean[POR15 product], then I wiped it with a wet rag, then dried it. Marine Clean removes any dirt or oily residues that might interfere with adhesion. Then I used a brush to lay down some Metal Ready[another POR15 product]. This product etches the metal and leaves behind a zinc phosphate coating that creates a good base for POR15 to adhere to. Then I wiped it down with a wet rag and dried it with a heat gun to remove any moisture.

I coated my window stops with Plasti-Dip. After I bead blasted them of course. Gave them 2 coats.
