Do you have aftermarket bucket seats in your Pontiac? Looking for pictures and opinions from those that do.

Specially interested in a-body cars, and also if you have “high-back” or “low-back with headrest” seats.

I like these (attached pics)... but struggling with high back or low back w/ headrest.

I have Chrysler Sebring black LEATHER seats in my 64 GTO Convertible, as they have the "built in the seat shoulder belt". A very safe system compared to the factory 64 seats that would allow Grandma, not wearing a belt in the rear seat in 1964, to fly forward and crush the driver against the steering wheel in a crash. 1964 seats did not even have a lock on the upper portion of the seat to keep it from flying forward. I believe 1966 was the first year for that safety feature.

I had custom seat mount pieces fabricated to allow using the factory floorboard mounts with the Sebring seat mounts. Of course they have a proper headrest built into them too.

That is a good looking seat and a fair price! Got any pics of them in your car(s)? Do they hold you in well around turns?

In one of my cars I have early S-10 (square body) Blazer seats. The factory blue vinyl matched the interior very well so they look like they belong and are comfortable.

In another one of my cars I used early Fiero seats. The early seats have speakers in the headrest. Once again, comfortable but not quite as comfortable as the S-10 seats. I like the speakers in the headrest though.

Another car has the plastic race seats that everybody sells. Even with the covers they are not comfortable.

I really like the looks of the Corbeau seats.

I am assuming the vinyl is superior to the leather when it comes to abrasion resistance.

So PM72, I would ask another question:
How wide are you across the hip bones?

The reason why I ask is my Sebring seats are very comfortable on my hips.

A friend (Former Director of Borg Warner Turbo Systems purchased a new Mid Engine Corvette
with the Stiff Bolster racing seats.
These seats only accommodate people with small hip distance spread.
If you are wider vs the bolster distance the seats are very uncomfortable on a 1.5 hr trip each direction.
Painful in fact. But I shimmed up my hips with a couple of stiff pillows and managed them ride in both directions. Otherwise you might be VERY
UNHAPPY with the seats you buy.

i have the procar rally 1000 seats in my 72 firebird, they are a full size seat & would fit great in an bigger A body car too. very firm & supportive with the side bolsters but also incredibly comfortable. & they have fully reclining backs & adjustable headrests. they come in different colors & even real leather & make a low back option too. & very good price at about $325ea when i got them & now about $340ea at amazon, other places liek summit are more expensive but amazon has the best prices.

they also come with standard seat tracks that can be made to use in most cars or they sell more vehicle specific tracks. i chose to make some custom plates to bolt to the seat & allow me to use the stock firebird tracks, they sit a little lower than the tracks procar sells for more head clearance. been 5 years since installed & they hold up great & im still very happy with them. they also match the rear seat & door panel vertical stitching for a close to stock look.

I have Corbeau GTS IIs. They are pretty snug (which is the point) and I am short of a 40" waist. I would suggest something else if you are looking for something cushy and lounge chair-like. On Corbeau's brackets, the seats sat too high so I sectioned the legs and rewelded which ended up with the seat hitting the hump for the frame bolt so I shortened the frame bolts, slit the floor and welded the hump flat to get them everything at the right height: https://drivn.com/post/69512/corbeau-gts-ii

I have Pro Car high backs (no separate headrest). They are comfortable and offer decent support. They were covered using the material from the original bench seat for the contrasted inserts. They look good, but in my opinion are 3-4 inches too tall to look "right".(knowing the look of the originals height wise)
I think I saw what to me is the perfect balance of modern comfort with a look that "blends". A fellow that comes to our local Saturday night cruise in has a '65 that I believe he used Nissan Murano(sp?) seats in. They blend in well, but are taller than the stockers, more comfortable and supportive. He owns his own upholstery shop, so I'm sure it was an easy swap for him.
And as usual the pics won't show up correctly.

did you use the supplied tracks that come with the procar seats or did you order tracks from procar for your car? if you used either of those, that was a big complaint i read about before buying these seats & why i decided to make brackets for the stock seat tracks to bolt to. they sit just about like the stock seats did & allow for a correct look & head clearance.
