Yes! It runs strong and it's very hard to keep it planted. I was side by side with a '71 442 on the way to the show and put the throttle down about 3/4 around 30 mph. It took a second to realize I didn't have any traction and was drifting sideways

On the way back I lit them up at a stoplight when no one was around. Every time I drive by it I have a Clark Griswold moment..."Fifty yards..."

Thumbs up

Fortunate enough to still be able to drive it and have shows until early DEC, so gave the '66 a slightly overdue Transfusion

Went for a lunch drive today...weather was sunny and 73 degrees. So interesting how the sun plays with the color...looks very light.

Image is not today, but you get the picture.

That's a great photo. The sun was perfectly positioned to accentuate those distinctive body contours.

Nothin beats crawling around under the car (up on jack stands), bleeding brakes, especially a bone-dry system. Going to give it another go-'round another day; still not 100%.

Got the trailer hitch back together today on the Wangers' Bandit Suburban. All I wanted to do was remove the hitch but it was frozen into the receiver- probably hadn't been removed since Jim built the truck 30 years ago. I had to remove the whole receiver and let a welding shop heat it and press the hitch out. Wire brushed and painted everything, chased all of the fastener threads, and re-installed it. Now all I need to do is figure out why no taillights!

"Started" cutting the windshield loose on my '66. I don't think it's ever been out. The sealant is rock hard. Went to Harbor Freight and they had a kit with the wire and two pull handles. My old glass removal tool wouldn't budge it, bent the blade but the wire works. Still slow going. Hot knife is what's needed but they're expensive for the number of times I'd be using it.

What about carefully heting the edge of the glass with a heat gun as you pull the wire?

L84 getting mid 15's around town - will try a hour drive and see what it gets..

Mocking up a data screen behind the dash on my '69 Firebird. I've wanted to do this for almost 10 years.

I thought about that but I only have two hands. The glass is shot so don't have to be careful with it. I may be able to heat it a section at a time, pull the wire then heat a little more.

Drove mine into town last night for my birthday dinner. Got to smell a little tire smoke on the way home even.

Birthday burnout sounds like a good idea. I'll have to remember that next year.

Another 124 miles on the GTO today...still trying to wear out the rear tires...18 very nice burnouts today, and the wife doesn't complain, she likes it.

Without video, none of these burnouts count.

Took it out today and filled the tank for winter storage after a wheel alignment on Friday, this is the second time I filled it up for storage as a month ago when I did it I didn't know the weather would be nice enough to let me get it out a few more times. Still no snow but most of the coming days will be at or below freezing so not really nice enough for much of a drive.

Brakes sucked on my 68 bird since I bought it 3 years ago, I have the 69 single pot calipers. Swapped pads and deglazed the discs and didn't help. Swapped out the MC with a Right Stuff DBMC09 one and that seemed to make a difference, its not stopping on a dime but it's more responsive, even locks them up at slow speed.

Did a little photo shoot.

2024 marks the 60th Anniversary of the introduction of the GTO; as such the M1 Concourse will be hosting a special event on the Friday of the Dream Cruise weekend.

The images taken today will be used to promote this special event.

The GTO today? I walked past it, on my way to the workbench. It's sitting hood open, up on jack stands waiting on me to put a clutch etc in it.
