Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Saw the new Tarantino film recently, thought it was pretty good.
The movie concerns the events leading up to the Sharon Tate murders by Mansons followers. The attention to detail of the street scene of 1969 L.A. was outstanding, as were the details of the many vehicles used. For instance, the 68 Firebird of Abigail Folger, who was one of the victims, is fairly accurately portrayed. Hers was a Firebird 400 with hood scoops, the movie car had a flat hood however. What are your thoughts on the movie?

A guy at the local cruise offered several of us the chance to work as extras with our cars. It would have meant driving to the other side of LA on a weekday, so I passed.
What’s that movie supposed to be about, anyways? It is all focused on the Manson stuff?

Anyone that has not seen it and will, make sure you stay around for the credits. There is a short scean stuck at the end that is worth watching. The movie kind of ends as a "what if"the Mansons went to he wrong house.Worth seeing IMO.Tom

There's interaction with the Manson family in the movie but it's not all about the murders of Tate and Folger, etc. I was kind of relieved as I wasn't looking forward to that. DiCaprio plays an actor facing the end of his career and Pitt is his stuntman buddy, also having a hard time getting work. DiCaprio's character lives beside the Tate house.

Great flick, me and my girl watch all his movies. He is a great storyteller but he could shorten his movies a little. Funny how he will rewrite history to make the underdog come out on top. I really enjoyed all the old cars in this one and that Bird was the first and only Pontiac I noticed. How it was not possible to have a GTO in a late 60s movie is beyond me. I also saw the 400 emblems on the trunk lid but no scooped hood. Thought it was kind of weird that he portrayed Bruce Lee as cocky and an instigator when I would bet he was the opposite in real life. Good movie

Quote:
I believe the scene with Bruce Lee was supposed to be a fantasy in the mind of the Brad Pitt character, not something that really happened.
