Per the info below, the Antique Gold cars were supposed to come with the black stripe, but according to the 2d owner, it came with the olive stripe when he bought it in 1970. From what I can tell, it wasn't uncommon to deviate from the recommended color stripe. Scott BODY COLOR-----1969-----STRIPE/DECAL COLOR ------------------------------------------ limelight green midnight green verdero green mayfair maize................olive ------------------------------------------ starlight black cameo white warwick blue liberty blue crystal turquoise palladium silver carousel red..................blue ---------------------------------------- expresso brown antique gold burgundy matador red champagne...................black ---------------------------------------- -------------------1970----------------- palamino copper baja gold paliside green pepper green verdero green sierra yellow granada gold.................yellow ---------------------------------------- starlight black polar white palladium silver...............blue ----------------------------------------- burgundy cardinal red..................black ----------------------------------------- bermuda blue atoll blue mint turquoise orbit orange..................orange ----------------------------------------- stripes were multi-colored and were identified by their prominent color... ---------------1969---------------------- -----------(long stripe)----------------- white/yellow/OLIVE yellow/red/BLUE white/red/BLACK ----------------1970--------------------- -----------(eyebrow stripe)-------------- blue/ORANGE/pink yellow/BLUE/red yellow/BLACK/red green/YELLOW/white colors are listed from the outer color to the inner color. These were the factory recommended combinations, but I believe any color stripe could be ordered with any color as a special order.

Everybody always uses that color chart for judge stripes and its dead wrong.. Ive had these cars in all colors since i was 15 yrs old and had most colors. Liberty blue and crystal Turq and starlight black and warwick cars always had black/red and white stripes. Antique gold, mayfair and goldenrod cars always had the olive stripes. Its a shame that whoever put this chart out yrs ago gave alot of people bad info.

I agree, that judge stripe color chart is absolute CRAP. I too have seen several original Judge's thru the years and am really tired of seeing wrong color stripes going on Judges as people are going to start to think the wrong color stripes are "NOW" the correct ones as they came new. Maybe a thread should be started to try to help??? Sorry for the rant Tom and good luck with your sale as you did a GREAT job on the resto

In 1970, a neighbor of mine bought a Starlight Black '70 Judge. A four speed with black interior, it came with the blue/orange/pink stripes. The car was a knock-out. At the time two things struck me as odd. A pink color stripe on a black car, and no trim rings. I've since learned why it had no trim rings, and I had no idea it wasn't supposed to have that stripe, but it certainly did. TTT Last edited by 400 4spd.; 12-23-2011 at 10:16 PM. |
