67 full quarter replacement
Does anyone have any pics of the seam where the new quartepanel and the roof meet? I need to know how much to cut or not cut. Do you grind the lead out or do you melt it out? Thanks

It'll be pretty obvious once you remove all the paint and primer in the area. I melt the solder out with a torch while brushing with a brass wire brush. It doesn't take much heat, as in 'warp a panel' heat.

Thanks Gassman that's what I was looking for. I used a propane torch today and carefully melted out the lead on both quarters. (Dynacorn)

I suggest using a respirator if you use a torch to melt lead joints. The gasses can be toxic.

Uh, yeah... It should be much more than a suggestion. Don't be doing any lead work without wearing a respirator and good ventilation. Eeps!
