Thanks. Yep, designed that and printed it on a 3d printer. Useful because it attaches to the point cam, so any and all changes in vacuum or mechanical advance can be measured.

That's pretty neat. I just use a simple small degree wheel that I can attach to the distributor. I think Cliff and I both have posted pics of that in the past.

Curious, what makes you believe you need 36 total advance?

Personally, with iron heads, I've always come to the conclusion that 32 was pretty much the optimum total on the street, which gives a little cushion for varying gas quality.

Last iron head setup I ran it worked best with 16 initial, 16 mechanical, and 8 vacuum, manifold vaccum.

I could go to 34-36, but depending on time of year (heat) and varying gas, it was kind of a crap-shoot. So for simplicity, left it at 32.

It idled at 20-22 until you got into the pedal, ran dead on the thermostat.

Would have to go thru my notes to verify, but pretty sure that's where it was at.
