Found this one for sale, its just like my first car- so many years ago. Same exterior color scheme (no 8 lug wheels tho) but my tricolor interior was silver / white / blue and I think better looking. My 62 is one I absolutely regret selling..

Here's my ride. It has only been in Sweden for a month and a half.
Originally a NC car but I bought it in NY.

Default '66 Memories

Brings back memories of my dad's car, bought new at Jarman Pontiac in Baltimore, MD. Dad was not one to spend money on options - crank windows, no a/c, only had AM radio, PB, PS. Nightwatch blue with a medium blue vinyl interior. I had to talk him into moving up to a Bonneville from the '62 Star Chief he was replacing (after a fuel leak fire). It was a beautiful, comfortable "land yacht".
I inherited the car in the mid-'70's, sent it to the junk yard in 1980 when the trans went bad.
Hope you have many miles of fun in yours!

In honor of 1961 being placed in the correct forums ! I missed a lot of cool stuff. Just got done looking at an old thread with a 421 HO bucket seat, split rear seat loaded down 63 Safari that came from Peter Epstein Pontiac in Skokie. Well know dealer along with Seltzer Pontiac. My brother came back from Viet Nam and bought a used Iris Mist 4spd ,tri power 65 GTO there. What a great 63 Safari that car is.

Post My new 66 Star Chief Executive More Door

I just picked this 4 door this past Saturday 06/24/17
Nicely optioned Pontiac

Power steering, brakes, rear defogger, power antenna, rear speaker, factory AC that still works, hazard flasher and best of all.....a more door hardtop !

Runs awesome, motor and trans rebuilt 14,000 miles ago.
Documented receipts for all repairs from the early 70's.

It will get a few more options that I have been saving for a car like this :
An AM/FM radio, reverb, tilt wood wheel, 8 Lugs, a rear sway bar from an early 70's GrandVille and a Factory dash tach !

It's a great 20 footer, but it definitely does need to be restored.
Just don't look too close.

But for right now, I just want to drive it for the summer

LOVE that 4DRHT body line.

The 4 door cars are like the wagons of not that too long ago. Wagons were the demolition derby cars of choice now they are highly sought after.

4 door cars were not appreciated and turned into scrap metal to restore yet another 2 door car. The sheer "rarity" of the 4 doors is going to one day make them as sought after as a wagon.
