The rule when swapping heads is use the pushrods and rockers that go with that head not your parts used with the old heads.
The valley pan should also match the heads. The exception would be to use a valley pan that’s compatible with your intake which is critical when running Tri-Power. A ‘65 - ‘67 valley pan with the rear PCV port is needed. These have 4 notches to clear the intake runners unlike the ‘64 and earlier pans, the intake ports were located 1/4” higher in the heads and no notches were required. The ‘68 and later pans have two raised ‘pyramids’ of which the forward one sits high enough to prevent the intake from seating.

Stock bore with stock pistons, final plan is to stroke it with 4.25 inch crank.
