Steering wheel removal
66 lemans steering wheel will not come off using the puller.
Tried wd40 Its bending the bolts on the puller Made a slight mess with the shaft and had to tool and die the shaft and nut Will heating it up help Thx Steve |

Put tension on the the puller and tap the end of the puller shaft to shock it loose.
Always worked for me. |

I’ll try and restore it on the column. If that turns into a cluster f, ill just put on a cover |

Sorry for your frustrations. You may want to give it another try with some higher quality hardware if you're currently using lower grade stuff. Not saying it'll work, but I'd try all possible avenues of getting it off before giving up.
To answer your earlier question about heat, I wouldn't recommend using heat in that area. Maybe others will have other insights, but I wouldn't risk damaging the plastic and wiring with heat.

Yes it is an inexpensive puller from amazon.
The screw is bent Thought i could get this off quick and have a winter project. |

You should be able to rent a better one from any parts store. Let the WD-40 work for a couple of days.
