Rear Armrest recovering Convertible 67
Are there any tricks to getting the old material off and gluing the new material on?
I'm looking at this task. It looks pretty straight forward. I am wondering what the recommended method of removal is if there is one besides just scrape and peel. Thanks.

On the 442 (hardtop), I added the covers and padding, so not sure on removal. But the install was straight forward.
I did add a little extra padding to help with some puckers in the material, but that was about it. I was tempted to add the covers to my latest build (hardtop), and the metal backings, but just didn't have enough info on that. Not sure how the backings install, but I may still do this when the time comes. Maybe post some pics, not sure I've seen this topic covered yet, no pun intended! .

Thanks.
I think I will add a little padding now that you mention it. Maybe some 1/4", 3/8" foam..
