Would love to see some pics of an installed set, preferrably on a 68-72 A-body. Firewall clearance, floorboard clearance, control arm clearance shots.

Any other installed pics are welcome as well, obviously....

Here are a couple of pics ...not exactly what you need, as this isn't an A-body factory chassis.....

My 68 GTO no firewall issues or floors heating up . I run standard heat mats on my car and i have felt nothing yet. Control arms yep thats fun but a new set on engine mounts with a little bit more clearance over standard will be fine. Oil filter needs to be a small one now no room to remove the long filter . But all seems fine go for it ..

Still trying to get pictures from phone to computer so i can post some shots .

Craig

Eric - Sweet! Love that chassis! Art Morrison or what? And the headers are tight against the floors, those seem nice.

Control arm area, would still like to see some shots there, and the filter area.

I didn't see them on ebay anymore, did they go up in price?

Chassis is www.streetrodgarage.com control arm area not a factor on this chassis...the headers are close to the floor, but not an issue. And I am running a remote filter, so I can't comment on clearance there....There is a 110* oil filter mount to help with header clearance, also new motor mounts SEEM to help with upper control arm issues. YEARS ago, I had some control arm/ header clearance problems....I contoured the control arm edges with a grinder and eliminated the problem. Eric

Those help, thanks! Yeah, there's plenty of room up there, they are pretty tight against the block. Now if I can just find a set that's $250 or so! All I see are the $500 pricings....

Is that a type II power steering pump on there?

HWYSTR455,

I have them installed on my 68 GTO. I'll try and get some pics this weekend. I have an E-headed 461. I had to grind the lower control arm mount on the passenger side frame some to clear one of the tubes. It was already ground some for the old Hedman headers I had on my old 463 with KRE D-ports. On the driver's side I had to move the brake junction block. Other than that they fit pretty good. Had to grind some of the flange holes to get them to fit to the heads. Wasn't a big problem though. On mine just the end holes needed slotted a little.

With your car up on the lift in these pictures, my jaw dropped to the floor.
Dang, that street rod garage frame is a thing of beauty. Check out the tranmission crossmember. It's beefy as all get-out but has special holes in it for big fat exhaust pipes.

Looks great and hope that you're staying high and dry during the bad superstorm Sandy !
