I used as close a color I could find in a rattle can (preferably a little lighter) to establish a close match to desired finish. The vinyl / plastic dye was then used to get the desired final color match.
Let dry for an hour and check for match. if gloss needs to be altered use the correct
(satin, semi gloss or gloss) clear to achieve desired result. I used this to paint my steering column and other interior metal parts gold on my 70 GP. The results were very acceptable.

I used the SEM stuff on the post uprights and it's holding up just fine. If you're concerned, try it on a test piece of metal maybe.
