A cam going away. The photos of the ends of the valves look like the rockers are pounding the valves.

Pull the lifters. I've seen them stuck and ruin a cam in an LS. Especially if the originals have been replaced with "Caddy" Lifters. Although, usually it's just one that gives up the ghost and it looks like there's a number of bad lobes on that cam.

Is it possible he's got a problem with the oil sloshing and the pump not being able to keep up the pressure while drifting?

i can see the roller in the first pic, it appears to have seized, the lifter will be junk, and the cam, the flaking i see on the roller lifter means pull the pan and wash out pick up screen!!!!

is this an aftermarket fast ramp cam and stock lifters? Looks like some of the lifter body's are hitting the lobes. I would pull the lifters and check the wheels on them also. There maybe some misalinement of the lifter to the cam (not 90 degrees) causing some "scrubing" of the lifter wheels.
