You can call machine shops and ask if they have any extra boxes, or just buy specific boxes.

Built a Packard and was to cheep to buy automotive foam, LOL. Funny part is rather than foam he count have got a 360 spray nozzle that comes with a long hose and used bees wax to coat the inside, or even an etch primer.

Never had that problem. My cheap blowfoam dried just fine. Maybe the foam you bought was defective. I have shipped numerous Items this way and NEVER had that type of trouble.

Sounds more like to me that it trapped moisture and caused the issue

The foam is non toxic once dry.It would make sense that it would be chemically nuetral at that point. IDK

BTW I use the "Great stuff" brand which is a one step closed cell foam.
