Default Dash speaker upgrade

So I got a stock am radio converted with modern guts so I now have 45X4 or 180 watts of power, I know no big deal but good for what I am after. Also has pre amp out puts if I ever want to run an amp, am-fm, rca jacks and mp3 jack.
I installed 6X9's, or "by nines" as the kids say and a pair of 3.5" speakers for the front. Thought I would post some pictures of how I installed the 3.5" speakers.

Started with the stock looking pos aftermarket speaker I had to begin with and ripped the cone etc. out. Cut two 3.5" holes in it and installed the speakers. Worked out real well.
Not shown in the pictures but worth mentioning is the sound deadner material I put on the old speaker before installing the new 3.5" speakers.

Way to go! Nice work! And excellent reference info!

Nice thing about mounting speaker in the dash is you get it bouncing off the glass, and you get a much fuller sound. It fills the compartment much better. Kick panel speaker are ok, but you get blockage from people's legs sitting in the front.
