Anyone else on here mount there tranny cooler under the car? I have mine 1.5 inch off the floor and it has a fan. Anyone run a street car like like this?? No room in the front of the car.

I hope you got a shield to protect it from debris that will get kicked up into it from the road...

Some installations I have seen place them as far back as where a stock fuel tank would sit.

They make a 2 row and about 24" to go under the rad support or down the frame rail if you don't have room.

1967 GTO rad support with tranny cooler...mounted it...cut a 7" diameter hole, made a 'grill' out of an old GTO grill.....also included pics of the radiator/fan.....derale shroug with dual fans and a Griffin 2 row aluminum radiator......runs at thermostat temp....

Nice Eric, my problem is I have a turbo on the r/front and a 36 x6 inch intercooler in front of the radiator. I am hoping it will stay cool enough.
The trans cooler has a fan and a cage around it so debris should not be a problem. I guess I will find out! |

My car sits way low in the front, I would mill that down in no time, LOL

What model car do you have? I'd like to see the turbo set up....I have been told that a tranny cooler can be mounted 'almost anywhere...

It is a 70 Lemans. Garage built by me. I'll post some engine picks for you later, I have a portion of the build on here I had brought over from PZ. I love your car by the way. Saw the magazine with it too.

I mounted mine in the valance opening, used the grill bracket mounting tabs, using brackets from the cooler manufacturer. Stack plate, think it's a 13x7. On the other side, did a cooler for power steering.
It would take a pretty healthy rock shot for it to make one leak, but am still considering some screen in front of them. But there's plenty of room up there. .
