Good to know. I can't say enough good things about both on my Cibie.

Default Brighter Lights

After reading this thread I had the occasion to be out in the country at night.
I guess I really don't do it that often because my lights suck.
I was wondering with the relays directing the current to the headlights, what about the rest of the lights that go on with the head lights ? Brake lights, dash..

Sorry i did not look for my wiring diagram yet.

I'm using LED 1157's in turn signals and brake lights.

Thanks

I just got back from gym, dinner, grocery, etc., in the Gee Whiz. Came oh so close to getting another deer. Didn't see it all until it was a streak coming across in front of me from left to right. Closest was a couple feet from hitting it. It was the semi-crap light on my Gee Whiz.

This one I would have seen with the lights on the 63. It was even the same road that I hit the last one.

We need a longer hunting season. This is getting nuts around here.

figured id update this as im troubleshooting the brake lights and worked on the whole electrical wiring system this week!

got the ebay harness in last night along with 2 new 6" housings fitted with modern h4 halogen bulbs...and its literally brighter than the sun now.

well worth the 25 or so bucks for the harness on ebay...hardest part was disassembling and reassembling the headlight bucket assemblies (and replacing those stupid tiny flat head screws)

I shot a video half a year ago with some evening driving in my wagon with H4 lamps and wiring upgrade.
Too bad I never filmed any night driving with the old wiring and headlamps still on but I can assure my lights are much better now.

Take a look if you want and see if you can spot the small deer crossing the road

Here's the link to the video: "Evening drive in my wagon"

You should try working on an iPad, talk about little screws.

I am definitively going to be giving this conversion a go before I do any more night driving in my GP. Standard high beams weren't too bad, but words can even describe how bad the low beam are.
Tossing up whether to buy one of the ready made harnesses or to wire fully myself. Was there a link for the extension harness required for the b body cars?

This made it so much easier. Red goes to the battery, the relay grounds through the mounting screws.

The black male connector goes on your driver's side original low beam wire and then the four ceramic connectors go to your high beams and low beams. Ground each. You have to fiddle with the connection for the Hella high beams by using the adapter wires in the Hella boxes and then button everything up and go for a drive.

It all ended up being way simpler than I caused it to be with the Ron Francis harness. And I guarantee you that I have all six elements on with high beams on.

I am about to install this exact kit....

I am at a loss as to where to get the adapter harness to convert the H4 connector to the single spade connector for the H1 Bulb.....

I gather the Low Beam is plug and play...... my issue like I said is the High Beam.....

Please Advise from those that have installed this conversion.....

Thank you

you know, I was curious about this because I want to update the old lights too but, I saw someone on here with a special tail light, by light, looks like bulb. it had like a circular glow to the light within the tail light. does anyone know what im talking about here? I thought they were those LED lights in a circular pattern.
