White with that terrible brownish/mud colored interior. I think they call it saddle

I will buy other classic cars but I will never do another restoration to this level. I have to pick colors and interiors I can live with for the long haul. Gold does suit your car but it would clash with any of the colors I am now considering. I like black. Plus it goes with everything. I would have kept the blue interior of it was like the lemans colors. I am using factory upholstery so black is what I have to work with

Everything bolted up the way it was supposed to with the steering box and now it’s on and while I can’t drive the car it starts to turn the wheels as soon as you touch the steering wheel. On a sidenote, I packed up the radio for conversion and shipped it to be converted to full Bluetooth. I wish there was a way that I could get Apple car play but that would ruin the whole aesthetic I am going for. Had to drop down to a drop base air cleaner and a 2.5 inch tall filter. To anyone installing the Borgeson box I’m here to tell you it’s bigger. Not a lot but you might have clearance issues.

Default Chrome

Well I went to S&H and picked up my chrome. 12 hours round trip. Over 4000 in chrome but EVERYTHING from bumper to bumper whether it was aluminum, steel or stainless is now chrome. I inspected everything before it was wrapped in butchers paper but here are one of the grilles and headlight bezels. Triple plated show chrome with lifetime warranty.

I don’t want to have to polish aluminum all the time, it was cheaper than having the aluminum buffed and reanodized and it shines like hell LOL

Well after the disaster at Classic Pontiac Rescue I have managed to save enough money to send my car to the body shop. I am taking it to a body shop that has a national reputation 7 hours away so it will be quiet the trip but should be fun. Obviously he cant give me a spot on estimate just based on pictures and videos but he estimated between 13-15K. I have 9000 saved and we agreed to bring it and he could do that work and by then he would know how much the rest would be. I have already filed my taxes although they aren’t accepting returns yet turbo tax holds them until they start taking them. When he has burned thru that money if there is only 2 or 3 thousand left then I will just put it on my AMEX and finish her out. Contract states he will not keep her longer than 3 months barring unforeseen circumstances so I am feeling pretty good. I will pick her up fully assembled and decked out, install motor and trans, wire it. Run it thru the neighborhood with no glass to check for electrical problems etc and then glass and upholstery will be my last major steps. Looks like hopefully my 5 1/2 year project will be done in four. Anyone got any advice before I take the 3000 pound jigsaw puzzle?

So here we go off for paint and body. I have another color that has been shown to me that I am leaning towards. 1970s Shadow Gray, my wife really likes it and so do I. The fear is that with all the chrome on the car (EVERYTHING has been chromed) that the Silver will look whitewash. So anybody have an opinion?

Yup, it will. Personal opinion is you need contrast, it allows one to focus on certain areas, either be it body lines or accents.

You want the chrome to 'pop'? Darker color.

You want the body or body lines to pop? Lighter color.

Again. You need to start by looking at factory examples, then go from there.

Light/Dark examples

Got a pic?

'Shadow' sounds like charcoal to me, kinda means nothing to me, there's a gazillion shades.

But, if you like it, then don't ask, just do. It's your car, you are the one that needs to be happy with it.
