Honestly, I recommend getting a new windshield over buying a 55 year old windshield. They get pitted and sandblasted over the years no matter what you do.

What he said.
Drive to a local glass shop and have them look up a new one. If the price is good ask if they would order it with a regular stock order, even if a few weeks out. It could save you quite a bit in shipping costs over placing a special order. Another option for new is Auto City Classic. |

It's funny, but the GTO, 4 door Tempest, Lemans and all exchange. But in the Chevelle line, the 300 2 dr post is different than the Malibu SS.

Tried to explain this to a customer of mine, just retrieved his GTO from one body man to take to another bodyman. The detail level on the restoration will be very high, not Cutting Edge Concours, but very close. The car's windshield is a 25 years old replacement, mildly sandpitted, the upper tint strip is faded & my customer mentioned he was thinking it can be reused (uhhhh, no) Similar deal with original headliner & earmuffs that are not number 1 condition.
