Cal custom use to offer them, don't know if there still around?

You do know what happens should you bottom out with one of those pans right ?

For basically the cost of a Aluminum pan if you could find one you can cool the oil the right way with a oil cooler , unless you want the eye candy too!

Herb Adams VSE made a cast aluminum finned oil pan for the Pontiac V-8, maybe some used ones still around.

I spoke to Herb Adams about those Fire Am cast Oil Pans at a car show a while back.

Ask him how many he actually had cast up. He said less than 10 after the ones put on the Special Fire Am (when people ordered one of them).

I have been looking for 20 Years and have only seen one on E+++ so far.

Good luck on finding one.

I hope I see it before you do. LOL!

I had one too, think I sold it on here a few years ago.

The only thing I didn't like about it is it had a rubber seal on the trailing edge of the pickup baffle, and it could deteriorate due to certain fuels or additives.

I also in a 68-72 A body had an issue where the drag link made slight contact with the ribs, but that was tolerable.

I considered having some casted using mine as a mold, but there was little interest and I gave up.

Pretty sure I have pics of it here somewhere.

So there's 2 of 10! Unless SS-TA bought my old one!

HWYSTR455:

I had the same issue with the baffle, the rubber is a poor choice for this environment. I drilled out the rivets and replaced the rubber with 1/8" Teflon sheet and then re-riveted.

I bought my pan directly from VSE in 1981.

When I pulled the last 400 I had in the driver, with that pan on there, that seal grew like 3 times it size. I replaced it by making one out of rubber gasket material, but sold the pan before I had a chance to use it.

I guess then we did have 2 of the 10 pans made!

I have a pic of the one 400 with the pan on it, if I remember, I will dig it out and post, for nostalgic purposes!

One cool think about Herb's pans you could use his 180 degree headers!

Stef's has a pan Nunzi designed as well as custom ones also.
