Default 66 Tiger gold build

Thought I would post up some info about my 66 GTO build. I may have posted about it before but I couldn’t find the thread.

I bought the car locally (Houston) not running (or steering!) for 5500 or 6500- it was about 5-6 years ago when I bought it.

The car was originally Nightwatch Blue, 4bbl, auto, AC.

We got the steering and brakes working as well as getting to run right away. It had a 68 400 in it and the Trans had been swapped for a TH350.

While it ran, it ran poorly. The timing chain cover was corroded through which I had never seen. The engine was pretty worn out.

The car was originally a San Diego car (came with original black plates). Then spent some time in MO before being willed to the family I bought it from. The body looked pretty good except for the drivers rear corner. Honestly if that corner wasn’t crunched in I probably would have just buffed the paint and driven it.
